Artist statement
I'm mainly interested in image as such: what it means, what it is. I try to understand it by development of my painting program, which began with aesthetic investigation of image's creation process. Until now, I grew into conceptual polemic about an image in a painting. In my last works I have used the aesthetics of virtual world out of which I get the specific diction. This diction indicates the confrontation of virtual and real world. This way I refer to the problem of simulacra and its influence on contemporary subject. I indicate this in paintings by using image metaphor and by using different painting expressive ways. The problem of image as such is very interesting for me because of the possibility of using psychoanalytic principles, particularly those of C.G. Jung. Also, there could be found a certain analogy to alchemy.The whole process of creation leads me towards simplifying, a reduction of expressive ways. I understand the process of creation as a search for my lost authenticity. Actually, it is the process of integration of viewed images by the dominant paradigm of this age towards creation of my own authentic images.
